Working on combat


The mechanics is completely decoupled from the visuals.

UI is all about big clear screen and radial menus.  Mouse entering a ship's rectangle highlights the ship's sprite.  Left click is attack, Right click shows the menu of all other options -- in the original the selection used to be on the bottom.  The menu supports both text and texture buttons, hopefully there will be pretty icons to put on the buttons instead of the text.

The visuals are a mess of sprites, shaders, particle effects and everything else available.  The video shows ship sprites, their shields, ship exploding, and beam attack effect.   SFX for most other weapon categories is done.

Still need interceptors/bombers, boarding ship functionality, and other features that made the original's combat unique.
